In addition to submitting a complete application for admission, transfer applicants to the Jackson School of Geosciences should also review the following information regarding special application requirements and admission restrictions.

Fall Admission Only

Transfer students admitted to the Jackson School must begin their studies in the fall semester. Applications are not accepted for the summer or spring semester.

Math Readiness

Students entering the Jackson School of Geosciences are expected to be prepared to meet the mathematics requirements of the courses in which they will enroll. All degrees in the Jackson School require completion of a college-level calculus course.

All applicants admitted to the Jackson School are initially admitted to J00100 – Undeclared. Transfer applicants are expected to be prepared to enroll in mathematics courses beyond M408C (Texas Common Course Numbering equivalent: MATH 2417) or M408K, Calculus I (Texas Common Course Numbering equivalent: MATH 2413). Transfer applicants who are prepared to enroll in Calculus I by the application deadline as well as applicants with additional math and science credentials are also eligible to be enrolled in specific geosciences degree programs soon after they enroll.
