The University of Texas at Austin

If the university has created an EID for you, because you sent us an ACT/SAT score, for example, we’ve also created a temporary password for use with your EID. Before you can actually access secure information with your EID, you’ll have to change your temporary password.

Follow these steps to create your new password:

  1. Select this link to the My Be a Longhorn welcome page. A log on window will appear.
  2. Enter your UT EID and temporary password in the text boxes.
  3. Click the “Log In” button. A page for changing your password will appear.
  4. Follow the directions on the page for changing your password. Pay close attention to the description of the required format.

After you change your password, you’ll be taken to your secure My Be a Longhorn page. This page will offer you valuable information throughout the application and admissions process, including information about UT Austin events for prospective students, contact information for your UT Austin admissions counselor, and access to your secure Application Status Check information.

Remember to log off when exiting My Be a Longhorn.
