Get on the Mailing List
If you’re a junior or senior in high school thinking about applying for freshman admission to UT Austin—and you don’t already have a UT EID—we invite you to get on our mailing list.*
How the Mailing List Works
When you register through Be a Longhorn, we’ll add your information to our database and create a UT EID for you.
During your junior and senior years in high school, we’ll contact you by mail and e-mail with timely information to keep you on track when applying for admission (and honors programs, scholarships, housing, financial aid, etc.). We’ll send you details about how to apply, invitations to events, and reminders about completing your application.
Your EID will also give you access to targeted information online through your My Be a Longhorn page. You’ll be introduced to the freshman admissions counselor who’s assigned to your high school, you’ll find out about events in your area, and you’ll be able to track your applications online through your Status Check page.
Already have a UT EID?
If you have an EID, then you’re already on our mailing list. If you registered for a visit or sent us a SAT/ACT score, for example, then you already have an EID and so are on the mailing list.
It’s always a good idea, however, to make sure your profile information is up to date. Log on to review and update your profile.
