Q: How long have you been a counselor?
A: Five years.
Q: What are your favorite UT Austin facts?
A: UT Austin is as unique as the city it's located in. It is one of only two universities in the country with a statue of Martin Luther King, Jr. A statue of Cesar Chavez was recently unveiled on the West Mall, and a statue of Barbara Jordan will be placed on campus soon.
Q: Your favorite place on campus?
A: The Turtle Pond, the grassy knoll in the "6-pack" of the South Mall on movie night, and the steep hill and fountain by the LBJ Library.
Q: What do you enjoy about admissions counseling?
A: I enjoy empowering talented students with information concerning educational, professional, cultural, and social opportunities in higher education, specifically at The University of Texas at Austin.
Advice to Students
Invest in yourself. Your education is one of the few things you own, and it will appreciate in value over time. Set ambitious goals based on your passions and strive relentlessly in pursuit of these goals. Seek out mentors in your academic interest and/or future profession and ask them how they set about achieving their own professional and personal goals. Do not procrastinate.
