If you’re applying for undergraduate admission and you have any previous post-secondary study, you must submit the following items by the application deadline.

» February 1 - Summer/Fall Priority Deadline

» October 1 - Spring Deadline

Application Requirements

Application

  • Submit your completed ApplyTexas Application (the online application is preferred).

Non-refundable $75 application processing fee

  • Must be paid before your application will be processed; must accompany application for admission to avoid a delay in processing
  • Online payment preferred when completing the online application; pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or electronic check (Do not send cash or personal checks.)

Alternate payment by check or money order

If you are not able to pay your fee online using a credit card, you may mail your fee payment in the form of a cashier’s check, bank money order or bank draft in U.S. dollars to:

Make checks payable to The University of Texas at Austin. Do not send cash or personal checks.

Write your Application ID number (six digit), UT EID, or UT Assigned Student ID number (or SSN if you have one) on your check or money order.

Essays & Resume

  • Include two admission essays

Resume

  • Submit a resume showing your contributions, talents, honors and abilities in extracurricular, personal and volunteer activities.

Major-specific Requirements

  • To be considered for admission to some majors, applicants must meet additional requirements or submit additional materials. Review the information about program-specific requirements for affected majors when completing your application.

Letters of Recommendation (optional)

  • You may submit two letters of recommendation along with your completed application, but these are not required.

Financial Requirements

  • To enroll at UT Austin, admitted international students must meet the financial requirements established by the International Office.

Application materials, including test scores and transcripts, are kept for one calendar year. If you’ve applied for transfer admission to UT Austin in the past, you may be required to re-submit certain credentials.

Application Timing and Deadlines

You should complete and forward your application to the university as early as possible to allow sufficient time to obtain your visa and arrange for transportation if admission is granted.

Summer/fall applications received after February 1 but before March 1 will be reviewed on a space-available basis. March 1 is the closing deadline for undergraduate applications.
