The University of Texas at Austin

In order for your returned contract to be valid, your advance payment must also arrive by your contract expiration date. Your $300 payment will be applied to your housing bill.

You can pay your advance payment in the following ways.

  • Check: Mail a check payable to the University of Texas at Austin when you return your contract. Be sure to include your UT EID on your check.
  • Online: Visit What I Owe to pay your advance payment online. From this site you’ll be able to pay by electronic check (have a personal check on hand when you log in to use this method), MasterCard or Discover. (The University does not accept credit cards in person or by phone.)
  • Financial Aid Deferment: Students who qualify for certain types of financial aid do not have to pay the $300 advance payment when they return their housing contract. For questions about eligibility for this financial aid deferment, contact the Office of Student Financial Services.
