In addition to submitting a complete application for admission, freshman applicants to the College of Pharmacy should also review the following information regarding special application requirements and admission restrictions.

  • Two-step process: Admission to the College of Pharmacy is a two-step process. To be considered for admission to the College of Pharmacy, you must first be admitted to and enroll in a related major in the College of Natural Sciences. You should also request special advising assistance (see below).
  • Applying to a professional program: After completing initial studies in your selected major in the College of Natural Sciences, you will be able to apply to a professional program in the College of Pharmacy. Applications are evaluated on overall academic performance.
  • Academic advising for selected programs: Students who pursue interests in special aspects of some majors are able to obtain special academic advising to help them pursue their particular interests. “Prepharmacy” (code 18) is an example of an academic area that offers special advising in the College of Natural Sciences.

Preparing for a major in Pharmacy
