Admissions application Deadlines
Over the next few years, The University of Texas at Austin is making some changes to its summer/fall deadlines for applicants for freshman admission. Here are the expected deadline shifts:
Applicants to Summer/Fall 2009
» January 15, 2009
Applicants to Summer/Fall 2010
» December 15, 2009
Applicants to Summer/Fall 2011
» December 1, 2010
The deadline changes are planned to allow the Office of Admissions to make admission decisions earlier in the spring of an applicant’s senior year. The February 1 deadline, which had been in place for years, often meant that applicants had to wait for their admission decisions until late March or even April 1. Earlier decisions will mean that students are able to begin their post-admission, enrollment planning earlier.
Spring Application Deadline
No changes are planned for deadlines to the spring semester. Freshman applicants who want to enter in a spring semester should plan to complete their applications by October 1.

Hurricane Ike
The University of Texas at Austin continues to monitor conditions resulting from the aftermath of Hurricane Ike and will assess and address the concerns of prospective students as they arise. Individual students who are concerned about how the storm’s aftermath may affect their application for admission for the Spring 2009 semester (and beyond, if necessary) should contact the Office of Admissions at 512-475-7387.
All deadlines are “in-house” deadlines meaning that items need to arrive in the Office of Admissions on the deadline date. Items submitted electronically need to be submitted before midnight (central time); items submitted in paper format need to be in an admissions office/center or in the hands of an admissions representative on the deadline date.
