Review the following details about applying for financial aid if you plan to participate in CAP during the Fall 2008 – Spring 2009 year.

If you are currently participating in CAP as a freshman and plan to enroll at UT Austin this fall, learn more about applying for financial aid and scholarships. Additional information about applying for financial aid and scholarships at UT Austin can be found on the Office of Student Financial Services web site.

For Students Participating in CAP in Fall 2008 – Spring 2009

Apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available:

  • At the FAFSA web site,
  • From your high school guidance counselor, or
  • By calling 1-800-433-3243 to request that an application to be mailed to you.

If you applied for financial aid at UT Austin but plan to attend another UT System university as part of the Coordinated Admission Program, you must send your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information to that UT System university if you want that university to have access to your financial aid information. If you have not already sent your FAFSA to your selected university, you may do so in several ways:

  • Online: Visit the FAFSA on the Web and select the Add or Delete a School Code link. You will need a Federal Student Aid PIN to access and update your FAFSA information online. If you don't know your PIN, visit the Federal Student Aid PIN site for help.
  • Paper Student Aid Report (SAR): If you have your paper SAR, add your university's FAFSA school code (see below) in Step 6 of the FAFSA, sign the report and return it to the address indicated for corrections.
  • Phone Correction: Call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243. You will need the Data Release Number (DRN) printed on your SAR to make the correction by phone.

Once you add the school code of your UT System university to your FAFSA, the financial aid office at your selected university will receive your FAFSA information and begin review of your aid application. If your selected university needs additional information, the school's financial aid office will contact you directly.
